Needles: Handy hint - Knit with steel needles for the fastest, smoothest knitting speed when using alpaca yarn. 2.75mm 60cm circular needles, and 3.5mm double-pointed needles and 60cm circular needles. If you don’t have 3.5mm needles, 3.25mm make a reasonable substitute although you will get a slightly smaller hat.
